Who do I report highway problems to?

Who do I contact to report potential flood concerns?

Uttlesford District Council or the Environment Agency. Click here for more information.

Who do I report a street lighting problem to?

The Parish Council is responsible for the majority of the street lights in the village so contact us in the first instance.

Who do I contact about planning applications?

Uttlesford District Council is the planning authority for our area. Their contact details are:

  • Telephone: 01799 510510 (Monday to Thursday: 09:30 – 16:00 and Friday: 09:30 – 15:30).

  • Complete an online enquiry form

The Parish Council is consulted on all planning applications and these form an agenda item on Full Parish Council Meetings. If the Parish Council has concerns about an application they will be taken into account when the application is considered by the planning Committee.

What accommodation (B&B) is available in Stansted?

How far is Stansted from the airport?

The airport is approximately 4 miles from the village and will take about 10 minutes to drive to. Please click here to see a map showing the distance from Stansted Mountfitchet to Stansted Airport.

How can you get from the airport to Stansted?

As the village is only 4 miles from the airport, most people choose; taxi, bus and train. Or if you are feeling energetic it is a half hour walk on country roads.

When is the Windmill open?

The windmill is open on the first Sunday in the month from Spring to Autumn. Please click here for more information on the Windmill.

When is Stansted Mountfitchet Castle and Toy Museum open?

The Castle & Toy Museum are open daily from: Saturday 8th March – Sunday 9th November 2014, 10:00 – 17:00 (including all weekends and bank holidays). Last admission is 15:45. Click here to view their website.

Can we get a bus pass from you?

No! You get them from Uttlesford District Council. For more information click here.

Can we get a senior railcard from you?

 Yes! If you are over 60 and live within the Uttlesford District Council area you can get your railcard at a discounted rate.Speak to our clerk by calling 01279 813 214 or call into the office.

How do I get my name put on the Council housing list?
