Changes afoot around the village

    CHANGES AFOOT AROUND THE VILLAGE

The Parish Council has been working with Uttlesford District Council to review safety around the village as more of our local businesses prepare to re-open and footfall increases.  We ask everyone to remember the need for social distancing.  We have identified four very well-walked routes where it is not possible to achieve social-distancing and we are therefore making them one-way for the foreseeable future.

The path from Norman’s Way to High Lane and the one from Burnell’s Way to Lower Street will both be one-way DOWNHILL.  Your return journey should be made via Brewery Lane or Chapel Hill.  The path from Chapel Hill to St John’s Lane will be one-way FROM the hill TO St John’s Lane with the return journey being along St John’s Road.  Finally, the path linking West Road and the “black bridge” with The Spinney and Stoneyfield Drive will be one-way UPHILL.  Alternative route via Church Road.  Signs will be placed at each end of these paths as a reminder.  There will be other areas around the village where distancing is difficult – please continue to be considerate of others.  Thank you.
