A wet day met the arrival of the crane from City Lifting.  The stocks and sails will be going back on the Mill today.

 

It's raining, but hopefully not too windy...   ...as the big crane and cherry picker arrive on site.

The brake is on and these straps provide some extra support.   The first of the stocks is lifted into place...

... and guided into the canister.

It's wedged into place    Meanwhile... Ruth gets a semaphore demonstration from BT

The second stock is lifted...  

... But the striking rod, which should move freely, is a little stubborn.   It needs a little help...

... before the stock can be fitted.

The sails have been sitting on a lorry on the main road all day.

It can back up Mill Hill as far as 'Foxvane' before the crane lifts off the sails in one go.   And lowers them gently beside the mill.
