The Essex millwrights are back to give their seal of approval and to lend a hand with some 'tweaking'.

 

The shutters aren't closing properly so the 'spider' and striking rod need adjusting.

Giles compares the old angle irons from the spare shutters to those fitted. They are very similar, so hopefully they can be used on some additional shutters.

 

John adds a trap door and some toe boards to the fan stage.

 

When working on the fan stage the fan is tied off with this chain for safety.

 

A new consumer unit helps bring the wiring up to standard.

 

Wire mesh is installed to stop the birds getting in to the cap.
