The oak cogs, or teeth, that in conjunction with the worm form part of the mechanism by which the cap turns, are all to be replaced. These will be the new ones.
The fantail has been completely rebuilt with new wood. Since this replacement will need to turn the cap to the wind the fans are solid and not vented as before.

The shutters have been sanded back ready for some fresh paint and number of them will have their canvas replaced. The little door onto the fanstage has had some timbers replaced.
All the metalwork from the sails, shutters and their control mechanism has been sandblasted clean.
