15th February

It's the weather again!  It's just too cold...  Woodwork is being painted and windows repaired or replaced. The repointing and brickwork repairs continue.  But it's been so cold that the paint takes an age to dry, as does the putty and the mortar, but progress is being made.

By the end of the week the curb should be back and work will begin to refit it to the tower.  It will have new legs and cogs and new tracks for the cap rollers and centering wheels, although the nature of the track is once again in question.  It may turn out to be made from stainless steel as wrought iron is a rare commodity these days and may not be ready in the timeframe available.

Fan heaters help the paint and putty dry on these windows.

A new window - just made...

The back door sill will be replaced. You can just see the top of one of stainless steel joist supports - not fixed to the wall!
