25th February

A site meeting today to discuss progress.  It looks like March will be busy at the mill as Owlsworth IJP, as they are now known, try and get the project finished by the end of the month.  With any luck the weather will warm up a little allowing the pace of work to quicken.

The Cap will soon have the Fan stage refitted in readiness for its reinstatement at the top of the tower once work to the curb is completed.

Ken marks up a few more bricks that need replacing.

The top coat needs to go on the window frames and they don't want any dust around during the job. So out comes the hoover and repointing takes a break for a day or two.

Norman and Underwood, specialist roofing contracters were also on site today to protect the fanstage supports and re-cover the little hatch above the canister amongst other things.

The chaps from Norman and Underwood explain their work.

Working on the Fan Stage supports.

Sand cast lead ready to be fitted.

Fanstage support being protected from the elements.

The hatch above the canister has been recovered in Zinc.

Some history written on the mill, the inscription reads; W. L. H 1822. A Hicks perhaps?
