5th and 6th March...

The repointing and painting continues... the track is on the curb, which, in belt and braces fashion, will also be fixed with long 'pins'... and the fan stage is nearly together.

Oak decking is fitted to the fanstage...

...the fan gear with mechanism for greasing the bearing...

...one of the guard rails which had been taken up to one of the scaffold lifts is lowered to the ground ready to fit...

the little hatch above the cannister goes back.

More bricks...

the stainless steel outer band and just visible, in the hole for the cog, the fixing for the track. These bolts are fitted every four cogs.

The curb... the channel for the lightning conductor contacts, which will rest under the track, can be seen. The track will sit slightly proud of the curb so that the rollers have no chance of fouling on the 'bumpy' curb.
