Bus Timetable Update

You may be aware the bus company Stephensons are short of drivers. Because of this in the short term they will be operating to revised timetables.

The company hope this will ensure passengers have a more reliable service until normal services can resume.

The revised service for bus number 301, which runs through Stansted, is detailed below.

The services is to be reviewed at the beginning of January 2022. Essex Highways advise people to check Stephenson’s web site for regular updates on their services.

M11 Footbridge Repairs

National Highways are carrying out essential work to waterproof and resurface the Alsa Wood Footbridge over the M11, west of the village of Elsenham.

They plan to complete this work over 3 weeks from Friday 5 November, working on weekdays only between 8am and 6pm.

Closures and diversions

For this work to be carried out safely, there will be a full closure on the M11 between junctions 8 and 10 northbound on Friday 5 November overnight from 11pm to 5am to install narrow lanes directly under the footbridge on the northbound carriageway.

Northbound traffic will be diverted off the M11 at junction 8 onto the A120, A10 and the A505 before re-joining M11 at junction 10.

The footpath leading to the bridge on either side will be closed 24/7 for the duration of this work. Pedestrians will be diverted to cross the M11 via the B1051 over bridge.

Alsa footbridge and a nearby footpath will be affected by the roadworks
