Maureen has been Chairman of the Parish Council since May 2014. Her priorities are supporting only sustainable development within Stansted, local business, accessible playgrounds, new skate-park, Stansted’s open spaces.

Fran has lived in Stansted for nearly 40 years and has been involved in the health service for over 40 years. This is her second term on the Parish Council and this time she has had a grand daughter to help her with her council duties! Her focus has very much been on how best to serve children and families in this community. Main interests are matters facing the Open Spaces, Civil Protection and Windmill committees.

By education and training, Alan is an organic chemist and has spent all of his working life associated with the pharmaceutical industry both in this country and abroad. He is now semi-retired and moved to Stansted 6 years ago to live in Bentfield Road with his wife, Christine. One of his two daughters also lives in Stansted on the new Forest Hall estate.

Daniel lives in the village with his wife and son, who attends Forest Hall School. He is a keen conservationist with an interest in woodland management. Among his priorities are road safety for children, improving social housing and protecting local services from spending cuts.

John has served on Stansted Parish Council since 1995 on a variety of parish committees and was also a district councillor 2008 – 2011 on the former housing and licensing committees. He formerly worked in telecoms with Nortel Networks in Harlow and still works part time as a technical consultant.

Matthew has lived in Stansted for 18 years, is married with two children. He has run his own IT consulting business for the last 16 years. He is a governor at St Mary’s Primary School, a member of the Parochial Church Council at St. John’s and is a community First Responder. He believes that Stansted has an extremely strong community spirit and is keen that this is not only maintained, but nurtured and built upon.

Ayub has a long-established career within post-16 education and training. He has experience of governance serving as a trustee on national charities and a sixth-form college. He moved to Stansted Mountfitchet in October 2018 and was also elected as a district councillor in 2019, serving Stansted South and Birchanger.

Jo was born and raised in east London and moved to Stansted in 1997. She has worked for the past eight years for a local property developer. She is a golf widow but has plenty of her own hobbies including reading and genealogy. Two of the areas of her focus as a councillor are parking and light pollution, which she feels are viewed as a significant problem by residents.

Geoffrey has lived in Stansted for most of his life and has been a member of the Parish Council since 1995. He also represents Stansted on Uttlesford District Council. Geoffrey served as chairman of the Parish Council for eight years between 2006 and 2014.

Jamie is married with 3 adult children and has lived in the village since 1987. He is a chartered engineer by qualification. He is currently chairman of the Stansted Tennis Club and chairman of Save Stansted Village. Sailing is a passion and he is a qualified yacht-master. His priorities are developing sports provision in Stansted and ensuring the community has a say in where major building development happens.
