Easing of restrictions

Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council welcomes the continuing easing of the restrictions that have been imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Consequently, we would like to remind all Stansted residents that, whilst we encourage them to enjoy our village open spaces, people must be sensitive to the needs and concerns of others and must ensure that their activities do not negatively impact others. Please be courteous and thoughtful when using these spaces so that we can all enjoy this summer and the gradual return to a more normal way of life.

Stansted In Bloom 2020

Stansted in Bloom- Close of entries date extended to Tuesday 30th June.

Getting out in our gardens is one thing that people have been able to do even if they are self isolating and social distancing, so some of you may well have found that  you’ve had more time than usual to get your gardens in pristine condition so why not enter Stansted in Bloom this year.

This is not the Chelsea Flower Show so your garden doesn’t have to be anything too fancy. Just well kept and colourful. You can download an entry form from the Parish Council website.https://www.stansted.net/events/stansted-in-bloom/.

Judging will take place on the week-end of  10-12th July and judges will need to be able access to your garden without entering your property.

Letter to local businesses regarding re-opening from 15th June

The Parish Council is working with Uttlesford District Council to assist “non-essential” shops and businesses to re-open from 15 June onwards.

Over the next couple few days we’ll be letter-dropping the businesses in the main centre of the village giving information on how to access guidance and advice documents to ensure that they are “Covid Secure”.

Attached is a copy of the letter

Reporting of low level anti-social behaviour

Please see below advise received from Uttlesford District Council

The below link can be used to report low level anti-social behaviour. The report goes directly into the inbox of the Community Safety Team, and will be investigated and discussed via the Uttlesford Community Hub in partnership with the relevant agencies.

Issues such as noise, littering, gathering of groups causing a nuisance, are an example of what can be reported here, and which are on-going, affecting the quality of life for our residents.

We would still urge members of the public to use the 999 system for emergencies, and 101 for reporting of issues that are currently happening.

Weekend Garden Waste Skip – Starting again from 30th-31st May 2020

We are pleased to announce that following the latest guidance from central government UDC are going to be remobilising the parish weekend garden waste skip service from this weekend Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May.

There will be 2 meter strict social distancing rules in place which must be adhered to by residents and operators will only allow one vehicle to unload at any time. Operators will not assist any residents with unloading the vehicles to reduce the risk of transferring COVID-19.

Residents using the service will need to be mindful that there will inevitably be delays when they are visiting the site and to be patient.

I have attached a copy of the schedule
