Mountfitchet Green Play Equipment Imrovements

COMMUNITY CHAMPION

The zipwire on Mountfitchet Green has gone down a storm with young users since it was given the green light last week.

Its success is in no small part down to the efforts of one of the younger members of our village who is actively involved with the Parish Council — Maisie Capp.

Two years ago Maisie felt the play equipment for older children at the Green was sadly wanting, and contacted us: “Had we thought about a zipwire?”

Since then, the Year 7 pupil has stayed interested in the Parish Council’s plans to improve facilities in her area, even being motivated to join our Youth Council to do so.

“It took us time to source funding for the zipwire,” says Laila Azure-Marxen, the Council’s projects officer. “But we’d like to thank Maisie not just for her idea, but also for her passion in advocating for better facilities for young people in her community.”
