APRIL CLOSURE FOR WATER LANE

Water Lane is to close for 12 days to allow roadworks to be safely completed next month.

Resurfacing work along Water Lane will see this road closed by Essex Highways for a period of 12 days starting from Monday, April 17.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order of Water Lane, Stansted

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Essex County Council undertakes Micro Hand Lay.

What is Micro Hand Lay?

Micro surfacing will be laid on top of the existing road surface. This will restore the surface texture and improve skid resistance.

Before the main works are undertaken pre-patching will be carried to repair any defects.

Then a thin layer of new road surface will be applied to the old surface. This forms a water-resistant, protective layer which extends the life of the road
