Introduction to our new Police Community Support Officer
Hello, my name is Nikki Morris and I am a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Uttlesford District in Essex. I am part of the Community Policing Team based at Saffron Walden, I work for Sgt Simon Miah. My immediate team members are PCSO Simon HORNE and PC Steve Sharma. I consider myself very lucky to have such a supportive team behind me! I am a parish funded PCSO with access to my own funded vehicle, to ensure I can always get to my parishes. The parishes I am primarily responsible for are Stansted Mountfitchet, Elsenham and Henham.
I will also be working closely with Forest Hall School and I am enthusiastic to have the opportunity to work with the Police Cadets. I am extremely excited about this new role and I am keen to get started and make a difference within the community. I have plans to hold a Coffee with Cops in all of my parishes and build a great relationship with all of the locals. I want to make sure everyone knows who I am and that they can talk to be about any problems they are having.
Before coming to Essex Police I worked at Stansted Airport as Security for 18 months. This involved searching passengers and all of the belongings to make sure they had no prohibited items with them. I enjoyed my time there but I wanted to pursue my dream of working for the police service that I had had when leaving school. Before working at the airport I went travelling to America. When in America I made some great friends and continued my journey around the states visiting Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and California to mention a few. I have travelled around Europe on many city breaks.
I live and was brought up in Braintree. Growing up my Dad was outnumbered with having three daughters, I am the baby of the family. I have a cat called Bella who is quite the character. I went to Alec Hunter School and went on to Braintree College to get my level 3 diploma in Public Services. In the way of hobbies and interests, I am a Harry Potter super fan! My favourite of the film is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I also have a passion for travelling, I am planning my next adventure to Australia to visit my sister who emigrated there earlier this year.
I’m looking forward to spending many years in this area as part of the Community Policing Team and if you see me around please stop me and say hello.
