Remembrance Sunday

The Parish Council is working on plans for this year’s commemoration on Sunday 8 November.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event will not be open to the general public but we are hoping to hold a simple wreath-laying ceremony in the Memorial Gardens with Rev’d Paul Wilkin officiating – this will be recorded and the video made available on our website and social media.  We shall be asking parishioners to “take part” by standing on their doorsteps for 11am to observe the silence.

In order to comply with all Covid-19 guidelines, it is essential that we know exactly which organisations would like to lay a wreath.  We can invite only one representative from each organisation to be present and, if the Rule of Six applies to this event (confirmation awaited), then you will be given a precise time to arrive, lay your wreath and depart.

Please may I ask you therefore to let me know by 5PM ON MONDAY 5 OCTOBER by emailing parishcouncil@stansted.net:

  • The name of your organisation
  • The name of your representative who will lay the wreath
  • An email address and telephone number for this representative
  • Confirmation that you have ordered your wreath from Craig Willcox willcox@hotmail.com

Thank you for your assistance.
