You could get help with your energy bills by signing up to an County Council-backed scheme.
The Big Community Switch has teamed up with Essex County Council to offer households a cheaper way to heat their homes.
The scheme involves collective energy switching.
This uses the bargaining power of your community to get a competitive offer for you.
By grouping together with others who have signed up to the Big Community Switch, the scheme aims to get you a cheaper rate than those based on the Standard Variable Tariff, typically used by suppliers.
Pre-vetted energy suppliers are invited to underbid each other to ensure you get a competitive offer. The service is free, and there is no obligation to switch to the winning supplier once you receive your personal offer.
You can sign up to the scheme here:
The deadline for registration is Sunday, February 19.
