The Mountfitchet Exchange
We are very pleased that the protracted Mountfitchet Exchange project is coming to fruition and at last we are able to prepare the Exchange to open to the public on Monday 13 January. This date fits with the Library Service and their arrangements to install fixtures and fittings, move in stock and ensure that all the information technology associated with a modern library is fully functional.
There are still issues relating to the long term future of the library service that need to be resolved, but they won’t prevent the library opening to the public on 13 January.
As well as housing the library, the new building will be the base for The Parish Council and act as a “hub” where residents can access District and County Council services, the Citizens Advice Bureau and our PCSO.
There are two meeting rooms which can be hired bylocal organisations and businesses. The rooms have all the IT and hospitality facilities you would expect in a modern meeting room. Full details of charges can be found on our website.
