Fourteen trees are planned for Wilkin's Crescent

TREE CONSULTATION

Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council is asking for your thoughts on its plans to green up the several of the open spaces around the village.

The aim of this is to provide more food and habitat for wildlife and to make the spaces more pleasing for residents. The Essex Forest Initiative has helped us secure 100% funding for the trees. This funding will pay for contractors to plant the tress and ensure the young trees are watered over the next few years while they become established.

Lower Bentfield Green

On Lower Bentfield Green we intend to plant 9 trees. Their locations have been chosen to limit the impact on driver visibility and also leave space for children to use the green as a kickabout area. It is aimed the siting of tress will have the benefits of screening off the green space, creating habitat for wildlife and shade in Summer, and improving the aesthetic features of the site.

The trees will be a mix of native and foreign species, selected by Forestry and Woodland Officers from Essex Forest Initiative after an inspection of the site in Spring 2022. As neighbours to one of the sites, we would like your opinion on the suggested planting layout. For the design we have considered the current recreational use and grounds maintenance of the site.
